The automatic saw HBE663A Performance is the specialist of the HBE Performance series for sawing material bundles. Due to its double vice and the retracting fixed jaws, even strapped bundles can be positioned precisely. In combination with the robust vertical clamping devices, the bundle is securely clamped during sawing. The industrial saw's feeding gripper can be configured in lengths of 1,500 mm and 3,000 mm for sawing long cut-off lengths.

Yes, the HBE663A Performance is specifically designed for the precise and process-reliable sawing of metal bundles. Retracting fixed jaws enable accurate positioning, while the double clamping vice and robust vertical clamping devices hold the bundle securely throughout the sawing process. The strapping must fit tightly around the material, with the fastener facing upwards to prevent the saw blade from catching and being drawn into the strapping. Thanks to its coordinated clamping system, the HBE663A Performance is particularly well suited to this demanding application.
The HBE663A Performance utilises band-guiding components made from grey cast iron, which are manufactured in Behringer’s own foundry. Thanks to their high damping effect, they reduce vibrations directly at the band guide and lay the foundation for a smooth, precise sawing process. Together with the heavy, torsionally rigid machine structure and the precise gantry-style guide system, stress on the saw blade is effectively reduced.
The servo feed system with ball screw and the sensitive cutting pressure control continuously adjust the feed rate to the actual cutting conditions. This prevents load peaks, protects the saw blade and extends its service life. The result is lower tooling costs, high process reliability and cost-effective machining of demanding materials.
The HBE663A Performance combines high cutting performance and robustness with exceptional flexibility for changing sawing requirements in steel distribution and steel cutting. It processes solid materials, tubes, profiles and metal bundles. The servo downfeed system enables precise saw feeds and short non-productive times, while optional feed lengths of 1,500 mm or 3,000 mm also support the precise production of long cut-off lengths. A particular strength of BEHRINGER is the combination of sawing machine and material handling from a single source. Roller conveyors, cross-transfer systems and positioning systems allow the HBE663A Performance to be integrated into customised, automated systems designed for low-operator operation.
For large material diameters, a band saw is often the more cost-effective solution. The significantly narrower kerf means less material is turned into chips, thereby reducing material consumption and process costs. At the same time, less material needs to be machined, which reduces energy consumption. Thanks to modern carbide-tipped saw bands, high-performance band saws now achieve significantly higher cutting rates and, in many applications, come closer to the throughput of a circular saw than was the case just a few years ago.
The HBE663A Performance combines these advantages with a heavy-duty, low-vibration machine structure, a precise servo feed system and vibration-damping band guide components made of grey cast iron. This enables even large solid workpieces to be machined reliably and economically. The reduced material loss quickly pays for itself, particularly when machining high-quality tool steels, stainless steels and other cost-intensive materials.
A double clamping vice secures the metal bundle on both the infeed and outfeed sides of the saw blade. This ensures that both the stock material and the cut-off section are held securely. It reduces unwanted movement during the sawing process and increases process reliability when sawing bundles.
