How does an aluminium billet with an initial length of around 7 metres become an inspected, ready-to-dispatch finished part?
EGA Leichtmetall Aluminium Hannover is a specialist aluminium foundry and one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of large-format billets made from high-strength aluminium alloys with a particularly high recycled content. These aluminium billets are used in demanding applications in the aerospace and defence industries, as well as in specialist mechanical engineering.
The system automates the entire aluminium processing workflow: from material infeed, precise sawing and marking through to turning, material handling and integrated ultrasonic testing. This creates a continuous material flow with high process reliability, high productivity and consistent, reproducible quality.
In this video, we show the fully automated HBM800ALU-Z sawing line in operation at our reference customer, EGA Leichtmetall Aluminium Hannover.
