The automatic bandsaws of the VPS series are Behringer's solution when it comes to fully automatic cross-cutting of large slabs and plates. The vertical arrangement of the saw band has clear advantages over the horizontal design, as the engagement length of the saw band is significantly shorter. A substantial increase in cutting performance with a simultaneous reduction in tool costs speak for themselves.

Due to their robust design and high-performance components, the bandsawing machines of the VPS series are designed for demanding applications in the steel trade, industry and metal production. From non-ferrous metals and aluminium to simple work steels and difficult-to-machine materials such as Inconel or titanium. Their modular design allows the sawing machine to be individually adapted to the customer's application.

Features of the VPS60-220A

  • Vertical arrangement of the saw band
    reduces the engagement length when sawing wide slabs and plates. Compared to horizontal band saws, smaller and finer toothed bandsaw blades can be used. This increases the cutting performance, lowers the tool costs and reduces the kerf.

  • High-performance sawing unit
    in a torsion-resistant C-frame design makes up the core of the system. The direct guidance of the saw frame close to the work area allows for better cutting performance and low vibrations.

  • Servo-driven feeding gripper
    with linear moving fixed vice jaw positions the material reliably and absolutely precisely. The gripper is in split design to accommodate wide plates and is positioned via two electronically linked spindle drives.

  • Unsurpassed precision and cutting performance
    The high cutting accuracy, quiet running and long blade life are all down to the special torsion resistant design of the saw frame. In comparison to plate and block bandsaw machines from other manufacturers, the force for the saw feed is applied directly beneath the cutting point, which results in feed movements that are considerably more accurate.

  • Cast iron band guiding parts
    are made by Behringer and provide vibration damping directly at the cutting edge, thus increasing tool life.

  • Powered duplex chip brushes
    actively clean the blade and prevent chips being drawn into the cutting channel. The brushes are adjusted automatically towards the saw blade, ensuring uniform cleaning action. The benefits: Increased tool service life and lower brush wear.

  • Servo Feed System
    The Behringer servo feeding system ensures constant chip removal and makes better use of the capabilities of modern bandsaw blades. The rapid response of the servo feeding system to the sensors for the cutting pressure regulation systematically prevents overloading and premature wear of the bandsaw blades.

  • Automatic guide arm
    Optimum sawing result without any adjustments - the moving band guide is automatically adjusted to the cutting height.

  • Optimum accessibility
    Behringer attaches great importance to the aspect of maintenance and servicing: All the important parts and components are very accessible. The open design offers direct access to all wearing parts, optimizing both maintenance and repairs and simplifying saw blade changes.

  • Chip conveyor standard
    A generously sized chip conveyor with integrated coolant tank is located under the saw unit, directly in the chip flow direction. Any chips and coolant are collected here and separated. The conveyor can be moved out of the machine frame for cleaning and maintenance.

  • Economical use of carbide saw blades
    due to robust design, use of latest servo technology and well dimensioned chip disposal.
